The Smart Manufacturing Capability Maturity Model is a national authoritative certification system introduced by the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China. It evaluates the core capabilities of enterprises in smart manufacturing, aiming to help companies identify improvement directions and goals based on their current smart manufacturing levels, thereby effectively advancing their smart manufacturing transformation. The certification is divided into five levels, ranked from lowest to highest: Level 1 (Planning), Level 2 (Standardization), Level 3 (Integration), Level 4 (Optimization), and Level 5 (Leadership).
